The Telecom service provider Airtel is said to have set up over 2,000 mobile towers in the uncovered areas of the North East and provide mobile connectivity in next 18 months.

Bharti Airtel has even signed an agreement with the Department of Telecom and the Universal Service Obligation Fund for the provision of mobile services in uncovered villages and national highways in the North Eastern states of Assam, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh.  Click here to read more.
