This photo was taken on a very sunny afternoon at Sirki River.

My mother and I had travelled to Dambuk village in the Lower Dibang Valley, Arunachal Pradesh from Canada to visit my grandmother. Adi happens to be the tribal language spoken by locals. In this language, grandmother is actually known as “Ojo” and that’s what I call my grandma.

Our visits usually consist of meeting many friends and relatives throughout our stay. But the day this photo was taken happened to be quite a relaxing one.

We walked a few kilometres along the river bed until we reached a good spot. The rocks were quite slippery but we laid out our nets and in no time at all we were catching fish! We had a picnic and enjoyed some of our catch for lunch. By the afternoon our nets again were full of many small river fish. We packed up and were even able to bring about 5kg of fish home. A great day I’d say! Not only was the view and our catch a good one but the company we were with, made the day that much more enjoyable!
