The picture that you see was taken right in front of the classroom.

This picture is a mistake. The tripod isn’t set right, the focus is off and the exposure is all over the place.

This picture is exactly how I want it to be.

My friend is sitting in front of the chanting room of a Tibetan monastery. What I couldn’t have manually captured, the camera captured by itself. The energy of the chants is calming and empowering at the same time. The roar of the music made everything around us shake yet not all was blurry for our senses.

(Please excuse the tilted frame. And the quality as well. I’m a noob)

Palput Sherebling a little ways down from Bir, Himachal Pradesh.

If you’ve ever been to a monastery, you know how magical these places can be. There are two monasteries just ahead of Bir. We reached the old monastery in the daylight and witnessed something amazing.

The moment we entered the building we could hear drum beating from a distance. We were enticed so we followed. The splendour of the sound grew and we reached the classroom of the monks. What we saw was nothing short of spectacular.

Pardon my lack of knowledge for I can’t name the various instruments they used to create magic, all of them though, came together to create music that my ears had never heard before. There is music that you hear and then there is music that you feel.

(I need to learn some post processing. I will be posting the video I made of the class too, soon)

After the class, everyone dispersed. It was a nostalgic moment for all of us.

I’ll let you find out for yourself.

(Mountains are home.)
